How to Observe
Memorial Day
The "Memorial" in Memorial Day has been ignored by
too many of us who are beneficiaries of those who have given the ultimate
sacrifice. Often we do not observe the day as it should be, a day where we
actively remember our ancestors, our family members, our loved ones, our
neighbors, and our friends who have given the ultimate sacrifice:
- by visiting cemeteries and placing flags or flowers on the graves of
our fallen heroes.
- by visiting memorials.
- by flying the U.S. Flag at half-staff until noon.
- by flying the 'POW/MIA Flag' as well (Section 1082 of the 1998
Defense Authorization Act).
- by participating in a "National Moment of Remembrance": at 3 p.m. to
pause and think upon the true meaning of the day, and for Taps to be
played.
- by renewing a pledge to aid the widows, widowers, and orphans of our
falled dead, and to aid the disabled veterans.

Do You
Appreciate What Your Therapist Did For You?
The best compliment you can give your therapist is
to send them your friends and family that are in need.
Meeting your needs and the needs of your friends and family is what we
are here for. We appreciate your support! Thank you!
Physical
Therapist Spotlight
ALISON BROWN FERGUSON, PT, ADP (OMT), DIP MT
What do you like most about being a physical therapist?
The best part is being able to help someone return to daily
functional activities that they were not previously able to perform. It's
satisfying to participate in the transition of a patient who is feeling
absolutely miserable to feeling fantastic again.
What are some of your hobbies and interests?
This is a tough one for a working mom! So I'll be realistic for my
life right now: changing diapers, reading stories, going to the park,
cleaning up, more cleaning up, walking the dog, rushing around and more
cleaning!
What is your favorite place to vacation?
New Zealand, of course!
