ENLIGHTENING THE COMMUNITY
"I feel that educating the community about safety and increasing their awareness of the services that are available to them is a large part of our role as physical therapists. It is important for people to realize that help is available for them and that they do not need to live with limiting conditions."
Community Education
Developed a senior exercise program and specialized weight training group for spinal cord injured or wheelchair bound individuals; provided training to nurses and support staff on proper body mechanics and lifting/transferring techniques: developed fall prevention handbook and conducted fall prevention lectures and screenings to hospital and community groups: Educated the community on incontinence and pelvic pain via radio and television interviews.

Provided 3 day seminar to other therapists on amputee care and rehabilitation.
GOALS FOR THE FUTURE
"I feel that physical therapy has made significant advancements in the treatment of incontinence, pelvic pain and vestibular dysfunction, however much still needs to he learned and researched. It is my goal to continue to educate myself in these areas to better meet our clients needs and help them maintain a healthy and active life."
